Directly Serving Parents and Kids
Schwab Learning aspires to help kids with learning and attention problems lead satisfying and productive lives in an environment that recognizes, values and supports the unique attributes of every child.
Our research among parents of children who struggle to learn and among kids with learning disabilities confirms that they have a range of specialized needs; for understandable information, for practical advice, for emotional and moral support, and for relief from the stress of perceived isolation and potential academic failure. Meeting these needs can have significant and positive impact for parents and kids struggling to manage their unique challenges. Yet, as increasing numbers of children are being identified with learning and attention problems, resources to help both kids and their parents remain scarce.
Schwab Learning seeks to directly serve parents and children by developing and delivering resources that enable them to facilitate their own success, reflecting our belief that kids and their parents are the critical agents of change in their own lives. They are motivated to understand and manage learning problems and to influence changes in teaching and academic supports to enable and sustain achievement.
Our direct services program strategy is to be a premier developer and provider of content, tools and services that address their unmet needs. Schwab Learning delivers the information, guidance and support that parents need to become effective advocates for their children and that kids need to understand their learning challenges through two pioneering Web sites:

Our direct services program strategy is to be a premier developer and provider of content, tools and services that address their unmet needs. Schwab Learning delivers the information, guidance and support that parents need to become effective advocates for their children and that kids need to understand their learning challenges through two pioneering Web sites:
- SchwabLearning.org: A parent's guide to helping kids with learning difficulties that emphasizes reliable, research-based information and practical strategies.
- SparkTop.org™: A place where kids with learning disabilities ages eight to 12 can discover their unique way of learning and develop their strengths and self-esteem.
The future holds many more opportunities for Schwab Learning to use technology and multimedia in service to kids with learning and attention problems. Projects in development include a television pilot for an animated series prominently featuring kids with LD and the issues they face and multimedia curriculum materials which have shown promise for improving comprehension scores for students with LD in standardized testing.
