Helen O'Neill Schwab is president of the board of the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation, a private foundation. The Foundation makes grants to nonprofit organizations identified and selected by the foundation's board and executive staff based on years of partnership with providers who bring a deep knowledge of their community and a strong commitment to improving lives.

Mrs. Schwab, wife of financier Charles Schwab, has been active in Bay Area community and nonprofit activities since her move to San Francisco in 1970. She has served on the board of governors for the San Francisco Symphony for more than 15 years and served as vice chair of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. She is a Board Associate of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. Mr. and Mrs. Schwab are the parents of five children and reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.
